The Get of Fenris have a rich and proud history within the Bloodied Hunting Ground Protectorate. When Europeans first came to the area and began to settle, it wasn’t the Silver Fangs, it wasn’t the Shadow Lords, it wasn’t the Children of Gaia, it wasn’t the Glass Walkers, or the Bone Gnawers. It was the Get of Fenris that were going to cross those mountains. It was the Get of Fenris that were willing to push back against the tribes that were here, it was the Get of Fenris that, through claw, fang, and bloodshed made this land safe for the others. They have been here for as long as anyone can remember. The stories of their heroes continue to fill the moots at all the Septs in the region, their tales of bravery still inspiring the Garou of today.
At the same time, the Get of Fenris today are non-existent. Sure, there are a few cliaths running around, and a few fosterns as well. There aren’t any of higher rank that can be found at the Septs outside of the occasional moot. Even when they do show up, they stand off on their own, never participating and never getting involved. In fact, even during the Moon Bow Folly, the Get of Fenris stayed silent, not officially sending a single pack to lift a claw in battle. Few Adrens, almost no Fosterns, and certainly no Cliaths have ever seen the Get of Fenris march to war. What constitutes the most warlike, the most aggressive, the most militant of all Garou tribes on Earth are actually pacifists within the region. That isn’t to say that they go around spreading the gospel of peace. Instead they remain mostly isolated and devote themselves to almost nothing but physical labor. Constantly preparing their bodies for the apocalypse and nothing more.
The decline of the Get of Fenris in the region really began in the early 1940s, and it began by the tribe sending all its members to fight in every major Garou battle that it could find; from the shadow wars against the Nazi Get of Fenris, to the wars against the Hengeyokai in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, to the battles in the Amazon in the 80s. Additionally, the arrival of Black Unicorn, and the loss of a number of challenges by the leadership of the tribe to the Children of Gaia leadership. In the end, the tribe has been forced to put its tail between its legs and retreat, admitting defeat. And that is where it has remained for the past 30 years. There are those who say that they will come roaring back with a vengeance. There are those who say they will never come back. Few but the Get of Fenris know for sure.
What is known is that all the leadership of the Get of Fenris currently live within a large Mennonite Community in the middle of the protectorate. The Get of Fenris, and their kinfolk, live non-violent lives that are completely filled with manual labor that they intentionally make more and more difficult than it should be in order to hone their bodies into the perfect weapons for Gaia during the last days. They do not train for combat itself, however, instead choosing to just turn themselves into the perfect Garou form. Nobody is quite sure why.
To date, there have been a few individual Get of Fenris arrive from other parts of the globe. Often these are accepted into the various Septs in the region, and eventually pack up with others in the area. However, before long the ancient, gnarled, grey haired theurge known as “Erhebt die Scheune” shows up. After a brief altercation which has always left the new arrival beaten and often broken, the outsider is taken to the Mennonite Community. A few weeks later the Get of Fenris returns and has adopted the local mindset and life continues as normal. This simple process has played out so many times that many of the other tribes have begun warning the new comers of what will soon happen in case they wish to move on to more familiar ground. Most think they will be the one to change things. None have proven themselves to be the one who will change things.
