There is not a time when we have not lived under Wolf Tyranny, nor a time where we were free to make decisions without pervasive terror as an influence.

We claim freedom, and we claim sovereignty of ourselves, of our own minds, and yet, even with Rats assistance, we are in no way royalty of our own thought.

It is because of this pervasive anxiety that we are NOW elevated above those that would deny from these truths.

We are subjugated and endangered, by the wolves and because of this, we know the glory of enlightenment through adversity.

What we are now, is higher and it is greater. We have become what the great American born in Vienna, Freddy Fuck'n Nietzsche would call us...

We have reached a place that is not A culture, but, THE CULTURE. THE NEST. THE SWARM.

And this Treasure is something we cannot be made afraid to embrace.

Would Rat Dare to turn down a home or prize?

We MUST seize this title, regardless of the instilled fear that we are shackled by.

We MUST rise above the terror gifted to us by the Garou, and seize the prize which even Gaia trembles to offer us!

Would Rat not teach her children how to survive?
WE MUST DO THE SAME!

We MUST reclaim what our old selves lost.

We MUST find in the Garou an ally that shows us how to make war.

Would Rat not learn and adapt?

We MUST find, in ourselves, the way to make war for Gaia!
We MUST make war in such a way as other warriors have timidly refused to do.

Would Rat recoil from defeating her enemies in any matter?

We MUST, WE MUST, WE MUST ALWAYS DO AS WE MUST.

Because our children, and their children! Because our Nest, and the Nest beyond us!
The Future MUST NEVER FEAR THAT WE DID NOT DO ENOUGH.

It IS our Duty. It IS our PLACE.
It is OUR Responsibility to do what others are not able to do.
WE MUST BE what others are terrified to BE, because....

OOC for the Players Benefit:

The Southern Nest, or Them Heathens from Jackson, is a nest well past the point of flux. To any Garou or Ratkin that thought there was anything that could be done to shape the future of the nest are already so, so many steps behind. The Nest is currently being systematically shaped by a cult dedicated to a New War, a New Apocalypse, a New Rat. As the Freak Aspects of the Ratkin begin to emerge, they are called to take part in the reshaping of the Southern Nest in ways that even Gaia herself never intended. The poor traditional rats that still live within the territory are living on borrowed time. They are going to move, or be corrupted by the NewThink.

The Cult of the NewThink is something that crept from the umbra and has become a spiritually co-morbid existential birthing plague. What once was Luna's domain has been stolen from the celestial, and instead has become a rash of pox spread within the souls of the Rats exposed to the deepest thoughts of the umbra. From the deepest Umbra, beyond reason, the memetic soul plague has become a dogma among the Rats of the Southern Swarm, and they are not using prophylactics as they brain fuckle their kin.

Currently, Queen Elam runs the Nest, however she has been getting... slow. The days are being counted, and her adopted princess Sister Mary Reich Cock is never far from her side as she struggles to complete her duties. The Queens death is just a formality. The killing squads are already in place, and the few that are smart are already gone. The Tunnel Runners have already made the path open, and a Diaspora of dangerous, extreme, lost, and vulnerable rats from every conceivable corner of Gaia are waiting for the invitation to join. WHATEVER the history of the Nest was... it has no place in the Cult of NewThink. NewThink is only worried about tomorrow, and what can be accomplished if sanity and bodies are the invested currency.

IS THIS NEST FOR YOU?

Candidly, if you want to play a Freak Aspect, it is your only option. Sure, you could convince the ST's to let you run with the 40-2-75 nest, but the hard work that would take would still end up with the same question... so why aren't you a member of The Heathens from Jackson?

Assuming you aren't a Freak Aspect, and you want to play in an extreme environment that leaves very little room for individualism or cowardice, then you will absolutely find a home here. The Cult of NewThink is not an Obligation, however the extremism is pervasive, and more casual or laidback rats will not be at home here. This Nest is for the Rats that want the Apocalypse to come on exactly December 02, 2012 because it is a numeric palindrome and it makes their dry cleaning easy.

This might also be your nest if you want to play a Ratkin living inside the Paranoia of the Breed. A non Freak, non Cult Member, could enjoy playing at living within an extremest nest. Perhaps playing a deep plant or a voice from the inside would excite you? These are both, very, very dangerous ideas, but the possibility is there. This is also a nest for fans of the Revised, or 2nd Edition Ratkin. Fans of Clockwork Orange and The Hunger Games alike can find ways to make this Nest a place for them. However, you must recognize that it is a Fascist Theocracy, and that means you have to adapt, not the nest.

Nest Rules:

A player can trade a health level (healed like an Aggravated Damage) for a gnosis once a week.
- This takes an hour, and often involves rituals involving bondage, costumes, and violence.

A player can voluntarily lower their Willpower by exactly their Stamina, once per week

A player can choose to start the game with a battle scar (no renown gained), however they gain the following benefits:
-receive two dice to resist a frenzy of their choice once a week
-Gain an additional Downtime Action which can only be used for extended actions
-Ignore the effects of Dementia for Downtime actions

Members of this Nest of Fostern Rank or Higher are subject to Dementia:
When the Ratkin with Dementia finds themselves with Higher Current Gnosis than Current Willpower,
they must Roll for Dementia.

Dementia Roll: Permenant Gnosis verse a difficulty of current Willpower. Even One success means the Character has entered Dementia.
If three or more successes are scored, then the Ratkin must also roll for Frenzy.
Demented Characters are considered distracted (-1 dice on all perception rolls, Mental Actions, and initiative rolls).
Demented Characters can cross the Umbra in front of non Rats at +2 Gauntlet.
Demented Characters can cross the Umbra alone at -1 Gauntlet.
Demented Characters can gain one Gnosis per Scene when they should gain a Rage
Dementia lasts for a day
