The umbral landscape of Mammoth's Rage is truly a maddening place. The entire Sept is teaming with life, far more than in the tellurian, and the spirits there swarm over everything they can find. There are few to no actual pattern spiders within the bawn. Even the couple that try their hardest to build and maintain the spiritual Park Ranger's Station are constantly being overrun by the horde of spirits, which cause the spiritual reflection of the small hut to be destroyed until its physical reflection can spawn more pattern spiders. The Keeper of the Land has done a wonderful job here of making sure the sept's spiritual reflection is exactly what the Red Talons desire; a reflection of a world without humans where animals are gathered in numbers that they have not been in the tellurian since prehistoric times.
That being said, things are not as simple as merely being teeming with life. The spirits in the area are also different than they are in other places; they are more fertile, producing more spiritual offspring than they should, they are often times larger and more colorful than their real world counterparts. Plus there is their attitude... All of the spirits here are more hostile, and quicker to anger than in most places in the penumbra. Summoning spirits at Mammoth's Rage is something only the bravest of theurges dares to do, knowing that what shows up will be just as likely to seek to kill the garou to consume its spiritual essence as it is to actually agree to any form of trade or barter. This is something that the Red Talons and Black Furies have come to know and enjoy about their Sept. Life is in abundance here, but it is not an easy life for people to sit back and rest. It is a hard fought life, where only those willing to put forth the effort are rewarded.
