We are going to try a little something different with pack totems, although it isn't really a change from the rules as written.
When ever a member of the pack uses an ability or power that is granted to them by the pack totem, the totem must manifest itself in the penumbra to make that power or ability work. If your totem grants you the use of a gift, it must reveal itself to be present. If your totem grants you the use of a charm, it must reveal itself. If your pack has communication through the totem, it must be there.
If something happens to your pack totem (you know, because taking out a pack's totem is a viable tactic) the pack loses all benefits of the totem for 1 lunar cycle as the totem gathers enough essence to recreate itself.
While we're on the topic of totems, please, do your research both IC and OOC. Volcano might be a fun totem to have, but if you haven't noticed, Kentucky is a little short on Volcanoes at the moment. This means that, while you will be allowed to take Volcano as a totem, you are probably going to have to work a lot harder to find and appease a Volcano spirit into following you to Kentucky. (Just a guess, but I would say at least two Moon Bridges just to get to where Volcanoes are actually common, before you even start the hunt for the spirit.) In other words, if your pack isn't up for spending a great deal of energy seeking out a totem, you might want to think about spirits that would be found in Kentucky.
